Mr. Kyle Freesen
Dayton, Ohio, United States
is the Raider Pep Band Director and a GTA at Wright State University, where he's pursuing a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting. He teaches Brass Methods, Basic Conducting, and serves as the Graduate Coordinator of the Tri-State Honor Band. He's the Asst. Conductor of the WSU Wind Symphony, Chamber Players, and Symphonic Band. Freesen earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Western Illinois University. He performed with many ensembles, including the Grammy-Nominated JSO, and was selected as a student conductor. Freesen served as the President of his collegiate National Association for Music Education chapter. He is an active music education advocate, giving clinics at state and local conferences. He is a member of the NAfME, Golden Key, Phi Kappa Phi, CMS, and CBDNA. Freesen has taught public school bands at all levels in El Paso and Rushville, IL. Under his direction many ensembles and individual musicians have had success. This includes students selected for All-State ensembles and an award-winning marching program at El Paso-Gridley High School. While pursuing his MM, Freesen teaches brass for the Centerville Jazz Band.
